Power International Holding (PIH) has announced a set of major new initiatives to increase employee engagement and reduce pandemic burnout.  These forward-looking changes include full access to LinkedIn learning for career development, flexi time, and Artificial Intelligence, which are set to cultivate a new company culture.

“Putting employees first is how businesses remain relevant in today’s fast paced world,” says Ramez Al Khayyat, Group CEO of Power International Holding.

In a recent survey conducted by PIH, employees identified learning and development opportunities as critical to improving engagement among employees. The company responded by offering 16,000 courses through online learning platform LinkedIn Learning. PIH is currently the only company in Qatar to offer this opportunity for employees.

PIH has also changed to flexible working hours to accommodate employees’ needs and reduce burnout. Office workers now have the option to attend work between 6-9 am and finish between 3.30 – 6.30 pm, compared to its previous fixed schedule, which was between 8 am and 5.30 pm. Research has shown that flexible working hours foster a better working environment and increase employee productivity.

To improve internal communication, PIH also introduced Leena AI, an artificial intelligence employee experience platform that recently appeared at PIH in the form of Daizy. She is available on all platforms that can automatically resolve 60% of employee’s queries without the need for a human element.

That’s not all, last year PIH launched an in-house developed app to transform worker welfare. Power Connect is a multilingual, tailormade digital solution that allows efficient communication among all blue-collar workers at Elegancia, PIH, and UCC. In a further effort to create a high-performance culture, Power Connect has allowed management to complete over 40,000 annual performance appraisals digitally.

“I am incredibly proud of the efforts we have taken to address employee engagement,” adds Al Khayyat.  “Making employees feel valued and developing their talents maximizes their potential, which directly impacts company performance.  By using LinkedIn Learning, Daizy and PowerConnect we are harnessing the power of technology to improve how we communicate, collaborate and learn.”
